The other night I sat around in an East Bay Area home with some friends drinking beers and talking bullshit, like we do. I couldn’t help but comment on tunes coming from the iPod and through a great stereo system, “Who is this?!” I asked Gordy.
“Kruder and Dorfmeister” he replied with a shine in his eyes, that shine is the manifest excitement of a person who is eager to share music with another, to expose the other to something they hold a passion for.
It’s safe to say I’ve never fully immersed myself in House music, and only in recent years have I grown to appreciate and drown myself in the Electronica, Experimental, Ambient and like genres.
But Kruder and Dorfmeister framed the perfect atmosphere that night, the bass was thumping out of the speakers along with mesmerising, sonorous, and funky little beats. And I love the sampling of the cool female voice on “East West”
we’ve got a passion, we’ve got passion/ it’s called peace.
So I may be a decade behind in the House/Rave Acid/Ecstasy scene but does time really change the music? Although, I’ve had my share of experiences with the drugs that accompany the genres, I need no more of that.

Death In Vegas is another band I’ve been playing constantly this past week, in fact, I find their tunes to be more provocative than Kruder and Dorfmeister. Death In Vegas has this Portishead-esque quality to it which makes the music dark, thumping in beat, and quite simply- I have the desire to dance in a room by myself. I’m no stranger to dancing by myself, especially if the music compells me to. My favourite Death In Vegas track? It’s the first song I heard, “Dirge” and it’s endless Lalalalalalas seduce me into a hypnotising trance.
If you’ve already heard, fantastic, but for those of you beginning to appreciate Electronica side of life like I am, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

dude meg picturing you listening to house music knocks my socks off! ahhaha esp picturing you dancing in a room by yourself sober, with beats swimming around you. BTW gordy WOULD be the one to put that shit on, he thinks lyrics get in the way of music. of course i almost argued to the death when he shared this tid bit with me but im sure you could have a buttload of convo with him on that subject. you argumentitive egg monster you :] loves
