De-loused In The Comatorium will always be filed under the ‘What the hell did I just listen to?’ category. Well for me anyway.
Forming out of the ashes of At The Drive-In, Cedric and Omar would re-join the world of music by creating an homage to 70’s prog rock and any other genre of music they could get their hands on.
Being such a big ATDI fan I should have been disappointed by this record because when I heard Cedric and Omar would be starting a new band I just assumed it would be a continuation of ATDI’s sound. Although musically they sounded nothing like ATDI they somehow took the aggressive and exhilarating feeling you got when you listened to ATDI and applied it in a completely different manner.
A few albums later they’re still creating breathtaking music but for me this was and still is their best work.
