The Last.fm Dissection #2

It’s been a long time since i did one of these but i seem to remember enjoying putting them together so i thought i would resurrect it. Basically i look at my weekly chart on Last.fm then talk about how they got there and offer up a taster to the wonderful music they create!

AA Bondy - This guy sadly didn’t make or latest mixtape but he certainly deserves to. Think Bob Dylan for our times!
Coldplay - I really have no idea how they became my second most listened too band/artist this week as i can’t remember listening to them at all but thats life and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, first album great but the rest not so good!
The Smiths - Again, just like Coldplay I’m at a loss as to where they came from this week but I’m not complaining. The Smiths are amazing. If you never got into them i beg you to do so now!
Nada Surf - One of my all time favourite bands. American Indie at it’s best. I implore you to check out their latest album Lucky now as it’s beautiful!
Bombay Bicycle Club - Shamefully this week was the first time i’d heard a full song by this band but thank god i did. If the rest of their music is as good as ‘Cancel On Me’ then I’ll be quite surprised. Great stuff.
Ringo Deathstarr - Another band i wasn’t too familiar with before last week but i was very pleased by what i heard. Very dreamy.
Deny Everything - The heaviest band to featured on our mixtape but a welcome addition nonetheless. This band will kick you up the arse from several different angles!
Russian Red - One of my highlights from our latest mix, this band are quite tremendous. Expect more about this band on this site in the future!
Volcano - I’ve spent the last week playing this song over and over and over again to the pain of my girlfriend. Quite easily the greatest song i’ve heard in a long time. Now thats a damn good recommendation for you!
Dananananaykroyd - A band i’d heard before about a year ago and i was less than impressed but their inclusion on our mixtape one me over and certainly got my feet moving!
