Hello! Aaron here, jumping onto this Top 5 Songs of 2008, So Far bandwagon! Just to pre-warn you, don’t expect to have heard of or recognize any of the following bands or artists that make up this Top5 of mine. I’m notoriously known by my peers for listening to bands and musicians that no one has ever heard of. I like it that way. Hopefully this post will also show you how diverse my tastes in music are to. But i implore you, check out those that I’ve chosen if you’re a fan of music. If you can’t take at least one thing from 1 of the 5, then your attitudes toward music as a whole, really needs to change. They all deserve at least some recognition for making it here!
I think Wil pretty much summed up exactly how i feel in doing this, so just to reiterate what he previously said - “Maybe a Top 10. Maybe a Top 100. A Top 5 is too hard I said, but here I am. My problem with lists like this is that I will want to change it tomorrow. And it was hard enough to single out just five songs so please don’t ask me to put them in any order.”

Yeah, that’s true. I was going to throw some Gallows and Norma Jean in there some where, but didn’t.

Excellent list, glad to see Pedro The Lion on there, David Bazan is a close friend and collaborator for my favorite band Starflyer 59. I have been a fan of Pedro for quite some time.

this is a cool top 5 list. Venomous & Manchester Orchestra are awesome.

I’ve heard of 3/5 of these bands Aaron, must try harder to be more diverse next time.
I think you mean ‘peers’ not ‘piers’ as well, unless you hang out at the docks a lot.
