THE 405 RADAR: WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS

Someone at Fat Cat records has got supremely astute musical taste buds. The Brighton based company continue to find the most innovative, bright and darn right excellent artists around; We Were Promised Jetpacks being no exception, who were signed late last year. Yet another Scottish based band, the foursome share a similar sound to heavily-lauded-and-rightly-so compatriots Frightened Rabbit, who they also toured with recently.
Future single Quiet Little Voices has simply got ‘Indie Anthem’ written all over it, released May 4th. A gorgeous track soaked up in nostalgia, though paradoxically a nostalgia for a place that you have never visited. “I’m young again, I’m young again” repeat the vocals, which are a significant part of WWPJ. For the thick Scottish accent feels raw and delicate, and character that hits you right in the gut. Also, a bonus for those of you who are a sucker for a punchy band name. Come on, We Were Promised Jetpacks with album These Four Walls released June and touring this summer, as well as a handful of festival appearances (including Great Escape), expect to hear a lot more from the Indie-popsters very soon.

That's a cool interview with some genuine sounding dudes. The quotes attributed to them at the top are genius! [view article]

I ask for a round two against the pills! I liked how the pill ladies are on screen during the bridge portion of the song. I guess nothing can stop us music lovers from hearing music. :) [view article]

Thanks for sharing! I really like the use of the tom toms and the harmonics on the guitar. Nice touches. It adds more dimension when appropriate. [view article]
