EXCLUSIVE: STAGECOACH SIGN TO ALCOPOP

If you've followed this site over the past year or so, you'll know that we've featured a band called Stagecoach quite a lot.
It started off as an EP review, which was given a 3/5, then progressed to seeing them support Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and two amazing shows at ROTA. Over this time The 405 have become great friends with the band and we've got plenty of things planned with the guys, which includes shows at the Buffalo Bar (which they're acting as booking agents/pr people).

The reason why I mentioned the 3/5 EP review was down to the fact that I don't want to be accused of nepotism. Much like Kevin Devine, the band have progressed to the point whereby their recordings actually come close to to their amazing live performances. Over the past year I've seen them play quite a few times and on every occasion they've blown me away. A week or so I suggested that Dananananaykroyd were perhaps one of the best live bands in the UK right now but to be honest, based on Friday nights performance, Stagecoach are pushing them all the way.

With all this said, It's my great pleasure to announce that Stagecoach have signed to Alcopop Records! With a roster of amazing bands such as 4 or 5 Magicians and Data Select Party, Stagecoach have found a damn good home!
On October 12th they'll be releasing their 'We Got Tazers' EP and playing a load of shows.
The 405 would like to congratulate the band and wish them all the success in the world.

Schadenfreude. I think you've pretty much covered it in the last paragraph: when we're down, we search for culture which empathises; when we're up, we search for culture which makes us see the value and worth of our current 'positive' situation. Not everyone though: some people detest dark comedy, cynical people and skeptical views. [view article]
