Band of Skulls

Band Of Skulls, whose debut album Baby Darling Doll Face Honey was released in September of this year, have announced details of their biggest U.K. headline tour to date. The band have truly been one of this years biggest buzz bands with the release of their debut album and subsequent large tours throughout the UK and America, and they've announce the physical release of their song 'I Know What I Am' on the 8th of February 2010 to coincide with the tour.

I wouldn't miss seeing this band in venues of this size, as they surely won't be staying this small for long....

Frightened Rabbit

Another band, another fantastic year. The sublime Frightened Rabbit will preceed their 3rd full length, 'The Winter of Mixed Drinks' with a single entitled 'Nothing Like You' on Feburary 22nd. The album itself will follow on the 1st of March. The band have transformed from a single man, Scott Hutchinson to a full five peice to flesh out the tracks and do them the justice they deserve live, and 'Swim Until You Can't See Land', the teaser track that the band released earlier in the month, exemplifies that. Catch the band on their March headline dates, tickets available from 9am, Friday 27th November via www.crowdsurge.com/frightenedrabbit or if you can't they've been announced as one of the first bands confirmed for SXSW 2010.

HUNKS + Friends

This year, some of the finest, most hilarious and compassionate acts in UK indie have come together to help save the cats, puppies and geese who could be left homeless after the festive period by lending their beautiful voices to a Christmas song that celebrates everything awesome.

The Magic of Christmas was written and recorded by Bright Light Bright Light’s Rod Thomas and Radio 1 in Wales’ Jen Long over 9 hours one Saturday in October, sat in a Cardiff flat in Christmas jumpers, drinking gin.

It was then mailed around the country with members of Sound of Arrows, Copy Haho, Sky Larkin, James Yuill, Slow Club, Cereal (Calum of Dananananaykroyd), Los Campesinos!, Sparky Deathcap, The Venus Stare, My First Tooth and The Airborne Toxic Event, all adding to the track and passing it on.

The track will be available to download from iTunes on December 14th with all profits going to the RSPCA

Mumford and Sons

It seems that Mumford and Sons are announcing things right left and center these days, but hey! Best to strike while the iron's hot and it sure is for the folksters. After their forthcoming Winter Fair London show, their tours to India and Australia, it seems that the guys are set to do their biggest UK jaunt to date. Be sure to check this magical band out live, their show combines everything that's wonderful about them: heart-wrenching ballads, toe-tapping folk songs and all out hoe-downs. Definitely not one to miss.

Hi,

Hope all is well?

Just wondering if you fancy coming to the
Gaoler's
Daughter EP launch at Pure Groove in Farringdon on Tuesday from 18.30. The boys
have just be asked to support
Babyshambles on their up coing tour, and they're pretty indie, taking influence
from Can, Captain Beefheart and The Kooks.

I know the label, 360 Degree Music, love the blog (as do we, obviously!) and
we'd all
be thrilled if someone
could join us for drinks, nibbles and some tunes.

Let me know your thoughts.

Best Wishes
