THE 405 RADAR: POST WAR YEARS

If you were lucky enough to turn up early to see White Lies on their recent tour then you will no doubt be raving about Post War Years already. Their bass heavy electronic sounds dig in like Foals with samplers, but really thats just a lazy reference, Post War Years are so much more than that.
Their intricate songs are full of danceable beats, driven basslines and enthusiastic vocal harmonies that hide themselves deep within your brain for you to find yourself singing days later. Importantly, unlike a lot of today's scene bands, they look like they are having lots of fun onstage. It really comes across in the sound that they produce. You realise that you are dancing along, rather than consiously starting to dance, its a neat trick.
Expect big things in the future from this young unsigned band as they head back into the studio. They have only one release to date, "Black Morning", a limited edition 7" on Chess Club Records that you can find to download for the first time here at The 405.

You have the wrong Jamie T song up, this is unfair on poor Jamie... However I think Delphic kick ass too. [view article]

She and Him WTF? (did you see what i did there?) "Well all right, it's okay. We all get the slips sometimes, every day." Wow, clearly Deschanel is the next Morrissey. I really like the new Laura Marling though. [view article]

Well I find them boring. What's the appeal? Is it the 'they toured with Los Campesinos! so therefore they're good' argument? As for the 'surely due to hit the big time' comment, I'm pretty sure I heard that at this exact time last year about that album. When is this hitting the 'big time' going to happen exactly?
