ANIMAL COLLECTIVE - WINTER TOUR

Written by Fern Edwards
January isn't always the most eventful of months. The excitement of the Christmas period is over, New Years resolutions are made and ignored, it's colder than December, shops start flogging all their past-season stock, term-time starts again, yadda yadda yadda. But here's something to forward to:

Animal Collective are bound for the UK, upon release of their 9th studio album Merriweather Post Pavillion, set for release on January 12th (January 20th in the US) and from what I have heard live (October 2007 in St George's Church, Brighton - one of my all time favourite gigs) I am expecting something beyond fantastic. Here is the full list of dates:

11-08 São Paulo, Brazil - Planeta Terra Festival
11-09 Buenos Aires, Argentina - La Trastienda
11-13 Lima, Peru - Centro Fundación Telefónica

That's a cool interview with some genuine sounding dudes. The quotes attributed to them at the top are genius! [view article]

I ask for a round two against the pills! I liked how the pill ladies are on screen during the bridge portion of the song. I guess nothing can stop us music lovers from hearing music. :) [view article]

Thanks for sharing! I really like the use of the tom toms and the harmonics on the guitar. Nice touches. It adds more dimension when appropriate. [view article]
