Coachella Festival not moving
It has today been revealed that Coachella Festival will not be moving after finally settling an going tax dispute. Organisers threatened to move the popular festival due to councilor Sam Torres proposing a new tax on events surpassing a capacity of 2,500. Goldenvoice president and festival runner, Paul Tollett confirmed that if the tax went through ticket prices would have to rise by $36 (£23) forcing the event to move.
Sam Torres recently backed down from his proposal, stating, "I don't take a threat from Paul Tollett lightly. I cannot in good conscience allow this to happen no matter how dire the city's circumstance. My sincere hope is that we can now move past this episode and I personally look forward to working to enhance relationships."
