Cold Specks - 'I Predict a Graceful Expulsion' [Full Album Stream]

by Rex Pester, 14 May 2012

Cold Specks, a pioneer of her own subgenre 'Doom Soul' has previewed her debut album I Predict a Graceful Expulsion as a stream for The Guardian. The songs are stripped back and don't have a drum machine, a wob or anything else forged in Reason – a refreshing change of play for new music.

The album will be released on May 21st.

With 'Honey Bunny' cleaning up last week's competition, it's onto pastures green and new with the beautiful 'doom soul' of Cold Specks, and the indefinable beauty of Kyla La Grange. Shake things up with the novelty eighties swagger of Mustang and mathy synths of Holy Ghost! And we may just have an event. Rounding things up with Django Django, and I think that you can sit back and enjoy one of the finest line-ups we've been able to make a weekly feature about in a long while. [read more]
