Details of D'Angelo's forthcoming album unveiled
The Roots' drummer Questlove has shed some light on the details of D'Angelo's forthcoming album. He told Rolling Stone that the record is "going to throw people off the same way that Prince’s Dirty Mind threw his R&B fan base off. In the past few years (D’Angelo has) discovered Bowie and Zepelin, the Beatles, Pet Sounds, Captain Beefheart and Zappa."
Along with promising a "radical 180 degree turn," Questlove revealed around 30 tracks have been put together, so the singer has a love of axe work to do.
Although no date has been confirmed, the album is rumored to be released August time and D’Angelo has also hinted at a collaboration with Q.
