Feature: Andy Monaghan's (Frightened Rabbit) People Behind The Music
Andy Monaghan from Frightened Rabbit shares his thoughts on inspirational people behind the music, including some established names amongst ones to watch.
Tom Rose, Reveal Records
Brainchild of workaholic Tom Rose, who started the label after seeing Kris Derver and believing that if he could convince Kris to let him release his record, he could sell it through his record shop. The label is key to some of the UKs most cutting edge folk. It's home to Lau, Roddy Woomble, Simone Felice and many more.
Chris Taylor - Producer
Known for his role as the bass player in Grizzly Bear, Chris has produced their last three albums, founded his own record label and released one of my favourite records of the last few years, CANT. Nobody likes a show off!
Strange Weather Brooklyn - Recording Studio
Even though I've never been here, having followed their story online I know it's a recording studio of the highest calibre. The chaps LOVE to geek out and have taken the high road along the DIY route with a lot of their pre amps and outboard toys to make the aural visions all the starry eyes clients have sonically intergalactic. Check out Woodsman http://woodsmanman.bandcamp.com/track/all-tangled-up who've recorded here.

Fence Records
Fife-based collective of musicians, artists and maniacs. They've put out records by Kid Canaveral, FOUND, King Creosote and Withered Hand and love any excuse to take over a large village / small town or remote island for a weekend party.
Jeff Zeigler, Uniform Recording - Record Producer
This guy loves synths, weird Japanese guitars, coffee and delay pedals! He's either produced, recorded, engineered or all of the above for Kurt Vile, The War On Drugs, Violens and his own Arc In Round outfit.
Optimo Music
Glasgow legend JD Twitch started a label a few years ago and has released and remixed some real dirty numbers when he's not out rocking your dancefloor into oblivion with Optimo partner JG Wilkes. The most recent output from the label is an arpeggiated odyssey from Glasgow's Golden Teacher.

Well I hope you find this week's gig review to be through the roof amazing due to last week's being AWOL...and if not for the fact that most of the shows are in Londontown (is this detrimental? i think not. it is the capital after all) it is a pretty bloody good lineup of the best artists of the moment. 4 cities, 2 countries, 1 venue twice, all American artists.....enjoy!
