Kendrick Lamar - 'Compton' feat. Dr. Dre [Listen]
We're only three weeks away from the release of good kid, m.A.A.d. city album, but Kendrick Lamar has decided to turn up the heat by releasing 'Compton', a track which features his mentor Dr. Dre and was produced by Just Blaze.
The album is filled to the brim with cameos, notably younger artists such as Jay Rock and Drake, but it's nice to see the old guard such as Dre showing them how it's done.
Earlier in the year, Kendrick Lamar received a lot of attention when Lady Gaga came to see his Coachella performance, leading to an announcement that the pair would be working together on a project. [read more]
Last week Jay-Z's engineer Young Guru dropped a snippet of Hova/Lamar's remix of 'Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe' during SXSW, leading to numerous pleas of "release the goddamn full version guys". [read more]
It was always going to be difficult to remix one of the best tracks of the year, even for Star Slinger, but he's done a pretty job considering it was created on his recent train journey to London; most of us just play Angry Birds, or stare at people when we travel. [read more]
