Listen: Ganglians - 'Drop The Act'
Ganglians are giving away five minutes of sunshine ahead of their new album, Still Living, which is out at the end of this month.
Strangely, it begins with the announcement that "this is a sad, sad song / for all you sad, sad people" – clearly lead singer Ryan Grubbs is on about a different song, because ‘Drop The Act’ is anything but a sad song; the guitar rhythms, possessing a clear pop sensibility, ooze catchy summertime vibes.
Towards the end, the vocals all layer on top of each other, creating a shimmering soundscape befitting of their psychedelic alt-pop. It also shows that Ganglians have really stepped up their game and improved since 2009’s Monster Head Room.
