Listen: Grace Jones - 'Well Well Well Dub’
Compared to the original track, Grace Jones’ ‘Well Well Well Dub’ is clearly a sparser affair, though that’s not to say it isn’t still powerful. It sounds more like a slow-groover; Grace Jones’ vocals are still there alongside other sounds, with a heavier echo to them but still possessing the same oomph they’ve always had. Though the song doesn’t particularly go anywhere, but remains 4 minutes of sensual minimalism.
It’s hard to say what an album of dub versions of 2008’s Hurricane’s tracks will sound like, but if this taster track is anything to go by, we can safely say it will sound good.
