Raekwon, Cappadonna and GZA lend their typically smokey wordplay to this Mathematics cut taken from The Answer LP due out next month. With RZA on beat-making duties, it's very much the sound of the shoalin as the seminal rappers smoothly cut through stylised dark soul production. GZA has announced that he'll be releasing a new this year called Dark Matter. No details on when it will be released - or whether it's the same audio-visual project that he spoke about last year that he supposedly stopped work on Liquid Swords 2: The Return of the Shadowboxer for - but if the press release is anything to go by, it should be pretty interesting. Madlib and Wu-Tang combine for this remix of Wu members Raekwon and Inspectah Deck's verses on Fire Water and Speak Real Words respectively. If it's possible the seminal rappers sound even more grimy with Madlib's raw, muffled production. [read more]
