Mausi - J'aime l'ete [Mixtape]
Newcastle based sunshine pop four-piece Mausi are set to release their debut single 'sol' on August 6th. It's the kind of track that, if we all take our speakers outside, turn them upto the sky and play it loud enough, we might be able to scare the clouds far enough away to get some weather more befitting of July. Before that's out though, they're releasing a series of three mixtapes. The first of those 'J'aime l'ete' (I love summer) features everything from Daft Punk to Talking Heads and Toro Y Moi. The release consists of lead track 'Body Language' (whose video premiered last week), the band's mash-up of Solange and Destiny's Child, original track 'Somewhere', and a cover of the Stardust classic 'Music Sounds Better With You'. [read more]
We're pretty certain that Mausi, the fresh-faced pop foursome from Milan via, erm, Newcastle, are going to be huge. For such a new discovery, their ever-growing arsenal of ridiculously brilliant dancefloor fillers ('Move' literally drags you into its irresistible groove) are nothing short of astonishing.
