Metamorphose graduate arts show - 12-26th November

by Hannah Morgan, 10 November 2010

For the 5th year running, the Islington Arts Factory will showcase wonderful graduate artwork at their Metamorphose exhibition, which starts this Saturday. Exhibitors this year have recently graduated from fine art courses at Byam Shaw College of Art, The Royal College of Art, UCA Canterbury, Winchester, Wimbledon and Middlesex University. Some of the wonderful young artists showcasing their work include Giles Bunch, Louise Folliott, Karen Garratt, Angela Goodwin-Day, Tessa Lloyd, Joe McElrow, Heather McReynolds, Olenna Mokliak, John Richert, Catherine Thomas. I caught up with Giles last Sunday as he was immersed in turning the front desk of the IAF into a makeshift radio station - his contribution to the event will be a series of one-off radio broadcasts that he'll be putting together with the IAF volunteers, exploring the way people use and interact with the space. The IAF is housed in the building that used to be the Camden Road New Church, an absolutely stunning space which is sure to lend a degree of wonder to the exhibition. Not to be missed!

With the amount of competition in the marketplace nowadays, brands are having to work harder than ever to get their products noticed. Merely bombarding people with adverts isn’t doing it any more – today’s public want more. Guinness and Audi have long since gone down the ‘creative and slightly off the wall’ route with their advertising, and a large number of drinks manufacturers (I won’t list them all, I’m sure you know who I mean) are sponsoring music and sporting e...
