Tall Firs release new fan-sourced video for ‘Crooked Smiles’ [Premiere]
New York high school pals and self-confessed 'underground electric folk' duo Tall Firs, after having appealed to fans for footage earlier this year, have released a new video for their latest single 'Crooked Smiles'.
Taken from their third album released earlier this year Out Of It And Into It, Tall Firs asked attendees of past All Tomorrow's Parties festivals to submit self-shot footage of themselves at the event in order to recreate the event's community atmosphere throughout their music video for the track, said to have been written about the band's own experiences of ATP.
When detailing his inspiration for 'Crooked Smiles' Aaron Mullan claims "I've been to a lot of ATP's (20 +?) and one of my favorite things is watching people pile in on the first day. What's better than seeing smiling girls in their first-day-of-ATP outfits, laughing with their crew, literally staggering under the weight of the beer they intend to pound right fucking now?"
After receiving footage from several fans depicting their excited and often raucous experiences, Marc Swadel was then able to bring the footage together forming a 4 minute clip of a typically elated and hedonistic ATP weekend. Tall Firs are set to play a free show instore at Rough Trade East, London today (29th May) at 1pm with an additional show tonight at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar, Brighton.
While you can also watch the video premiered here for the first time, 'Crooked Smiles' is available now as a 7” single with exclusive B-side.
