Masters In France – Clwb Ifor Bach // 20th August 2011
From Bangor, Masters In France have been hyped by everyone from Tom Robinson to Fearne Cotton. It’s not come without some opposition (being compared to Snow Patrol says enough on that front), but the five-piece might well be worth a punt.

Goodtime Boys – The Croft // 21st August 2011
Hailing from Cardiff, Goodtime Boys are a little bit of a terrifying live experience. Frontman Pennie (formerly of The Automatic) is worryingly energetic, leaping from the stage and climbing everything in sight, whilst still managing to stay composed, screaming desperately into the microphone. This should be a good evening with plenty of support acts.

The Corleones – O2 ABC // 15th August 2011
Good grief, they’re young! I feel very old right now… Anyway, Glasgow’s The Corleones make “lollipop” apparently. Whatever it is, it’s damn good. You know what to do.

Moddi – Camp Basement // 18th August 2011
He's one of our favourite Norwegian artists, and this show acts as a special warm-up to his Green Man performance. This is a must.

Rosa Valle – The Red House // 15th August 2011
Rosa Valle are an uncompromising tour de force. Mathcore merchants who swing violently between caress and bludgeon, their debut EP draws comparison to The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Fall of Troy and Sheffield’s own Rolo Tomassi, and is infused with an infectious sense of urgency. With support from local punks Grazes, Leeds sludgers Shields and party rockers Palmela Handerson, this one promises to be a blast!
Tickets available on the door only.

Other Lives– Deaf Institute // 17th August 2011
Having been picked by Bon Iver as support on his last tour has certainly done Oklahoma’s Other Lives no harm. They now embark upon their own tour, with Manchester’s own Coves and Caves with them tonight. Definitely worth a view.

CSS – Digital // 21st August 2011
Once upon a time a genre called New Rave had its 15 minutes of fame with bands like Klaxons, New Young Pony Club and Late of the Pier. Tons of these bands covered themselves in luminous paint and made rode ont eh coat-tails of a program called ‘Skins’. Many of them perished. But not CSS, it would seem. Three albums in, the Brazilian five-piece shimmy their way into Brighton. They’ve still got tunes to spare and if sweaty, sticky adolescent thrills are your thing, then get yourself down to Digital. p>
