R. Stevie Moore might just be one of the most prolific musicians around; having recorded over 400 albums, ranging from Beatles covers to electronic efforts. Moore is an incredibly interesting character that any fans of Daniel Johnston et al. should enjoy, and that this is his first tour – and that support is from Tropical Ooze (Moore’s backing band’s own… band), and the excellent H. Hawkline – should make this an excellent live experience.

Jeffrey Lewis and the Junkyard – The Harley // 1st August 2011
One of the pre-eminent ‘anti-folk’-ers, Jeffrey Lewis and his band bring to The Harley his unique brand of literate, witty songwriting on themes from life in the Big Apple with their style swinging between lo-fi folk to raucous punk. One of the ‘best-kept secrets’ of his generation and a favourite of Death Cab’s Ben Gibbard, this one is well worth checking out. Support comes from Leeds lad Serious Sam Barrett, who tells tales of Yorkshire filtered through with an aesthetic of pure Americana.
