    Day one of CMJ is officially over. The badge has been picked up and a panel and shows have been seen.     CMJ 2010 // The 405 Preview

    Every year the CMJ Festival descends upon New York City. This is the first, and albeit short, installment of the 405's coverage for this year's fest. For a bit of background, CMJ is put on by the College Music Journal and is primarily a music festival, with 1200+ bands playing at various venues throughout the city over the course of five days.     Vessels are going to tour Europe this fall! They'll be previewing some new tunes from their upcoming second album, the follow-up to 2008's White Fields and Open Devices, due out for release in early 2011. Their next single is set to be 'Meatman,' a track which features guest vocals from Stuart Warwick, who's providing support at some of the shows.     L.A. based quartet Infantree have new video for 'Euphemism,' off their EP Food For Thought. The song is a melodic little number and for the video the band was shot playing in various natural locales (a field, rock face, etc). Infantree's debut album Would Work is due out September 14.     The Poison Control Center have released a second video from their latest album Sad Sour Future. It’s for ‘Friends in the Band’, and finds the band wandering around meadows together, climbing trees and at one point playing stickball.     Clinic are set to release their new album Bubblegum on October 4th.     Mogwai have just released their live album Special Moves, which was shot at three Brooklyn shows they played during April 2009. It’s the first live album for the Scottish post-rock band and is available with a DVD that includes the live documentary Burning, directed by Vincent Moon.     Brooklyn by way of Dallas chillwave artist Neon Indian is set to release his debut album Psychic Chasms on September 20. It's already out stateside, but the UK release comes with a bonus disc of remixes by the likes of Yacht, The Antlers and Toro y Moi.
