On Air

WRONG Teaser

Whilst the premise may not be quite as absurd as 2010's Rubber the trailer for Quentin Dupieux's (or Mr. Oizo to some) latest feature film Wrong shows his continuing predilection for disturbing surrealism against the banal backdrop of middle america.

The central plot, appearing to be of a man looking for his dog, is constructed purely to be smashed apart by a succession of visual non-sequiturs, including an immensely unsatisfying clock and a ritualistic bottle-stabbing. While Rubber could have been seen as irrationalism purely for shock value, the straightforward narrative of Wrong may give Quentin's Buñuel-esque panache for the striking image a greater depth. However, like his music, it is Quentin Dupieux's playfulness and irreverence that will likely be the driving force of this film.
